Remember when Frontier said that you shouldn't go exploring the deep space without weapons any more? Remember how everyone thought it was just a random scare? Well - perhaps we're on a brink of something very new coming to Elite!

There's quite a rumour going on over on reddit about some new found game assets after the 2.1 patch. Among other things, there are new ships and textures, but most importantly, what it looks like a small Thargoid scout ship.

Could it be that we're finally getting some beefy aliens to shoot at? Whatever it is - we're only half way into the current season so hopefully the hypetrain won't end up crashed somewhere off the tracks...
