While traveling through the Trifid nebula, CMDR PanPiper stumbled upon a strange green haze containing crystals and an unknown type of organism...

Upon closer inspection, the "Leaf" did not make any hostile movements but it did show signs of intelligence by following CMDR PanPiper as he moved around the unknown organism.

The Trifid leaf looks like a cocoon or a pod of some sorts with blue/purple pulsating surface glows. It is targetable and quite large. By using probes, it emits a pod core tissue sample - the same ones gotten from the tree pods that have already been discovered.
